Luxury Abha Villas: Your Dream Saudi Arabian Getaway Awaits

Luxury Abha Villas: My Saudi Arabian Dream (Mostly) Came True! (and Here’s the Real Deal)

Okay, so, Luxury Abha Villas: Your Dream Saudi Arabian Getaway Awaits. Sounds fancy, right? Well, I’ve just gotten back from my trip, and honestly? It was pretty dreamy. But, like any real-life adventure, it wasn’t all rose petals and camel milk (though, I did try the camel milk…more on that later). This isn't some glossy brochure, it's just me rambling, okay?

Accessibility: Almost There! Needs a Little Tweaking

Let's start with the nitty-gritty. Accessibility. This is HUGE for me, as I travel with my… uh… vintage hip (long story). The website said "facilities for disabled guests," which is a good start. The good news? The front desk was very helpful sorting things out. The not-so-good news? Some of the common areas could benefit from a few ramps, and the signs indicating where the elevator could be confusing. I spent a good 10 minutes circling a fountain with my suitcase before a staff member thankfully steered me in the right direction. They were super apologetic, though. And honestly, it's all fixable.

The Internet (and the Lack Thereof): A Saga

Okay, internet. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! YES!… mostly. I’m told. So, you get a beautiful, spacious villa, with all the bells and whistles, and then…the Wi-Fi decides to take a permanent vacation. I think it's the thick stone walls of the villa. (Insert annoyed sigh here). It was patchy, to put it mildly. Connecting to LAN was even a whole other level of frustration. But then again, it is a vacation. Maybe not working all the time is a good thing? Probably. I eventually just embraced the digital detox and spent more time looking out the window, which was magnificent, and less at the screen.

Dining: From Buffet Bliss to "Where's the Hummus?"

The restaurant situation was a mixed bag, honestly. On the plus side? Breakfast buffet!. Glorious mountains of food! From traditional Arab fare to your standard Western breakfast options, to a selection of Asian cuisine. The Asian cuisine was a nice and unexpected touch. I'm a big fan of Asian food in general, and it was interesting. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself was lovely. They had an alternative meal arrangements you could get if its necessary. They had a buffet, which I tend to lean towards, but they have a menu that has a la carte options. They do have lunch and dinner as well.

The downside? Some of the specific dishes weren’t always as available and the signage could be a bit confusing, which again, the staff are there to help. There's a coffee shop and snack bar, and even a poolside bar. Poolside bar! You know I tried it: one drink, two drink, three drink… oh, the afternoon sun! There was also a restaurant that served western and Asian cuisine, so you could pick and choose.

Ways to Relax: Spa Day Nirvana (Almost)

Okay, THIS is where things got really good. The spa. Oh. My. Goodness. This deserves its own paragraph—maybe even its own chapter. I went for the full shebang: body scrub, body wrap, massage… the works. The place was immaculate. The masseuse was a miracle worker. I swear, I floated out of that room. The sauna and steam room were perfect, and the pool with a view (yes, a view) was the cherry on top. The whole area had a serene feeling, that almost convinced me to stay forever. If there were any downsides, I didn't notice, except maybe the slight heart-stopping price tag. But hey, you’re on vacation, right? And a day like that… priceless.

Cleanliness and Safety: Feeling Safe and Sound

Now, in these Covid times, cleanliness is EVERYTHING. And Luxury Abha Villas absolutely nailed this. The Anti-viral cleaning products were a great touch and the staff was always wearing masks. Every single surface was spotless. They offer an opt-out of room sanitization, which is a thoughtful consideration. Staff were all trained, and there were hand sanitizers everywhere I went.

Things to Do: Beyond the Bliss of the Spa

Beyond the spa, I wanted to do some activities. They have a fitness center; if you don’t want to go get your fitness on, there were also many other options. The area had a lot to offer. If you want to go to the city, they have car rentals and taxi services.

Services and Conveniences: Smooth Operator (Mostly)

They covered many of the basics: laundry, dry cleaning, concierge, a shop… even a currency exchange, if you need it. They can do things for the kids as well. There is babysitting, which I didn't use, but it gave me a sense of security.

My Room: My Private Oasis

The villas, my villa, was an absolute stunner. Air conditioning, obviously (it's Saudi Arabia, duh). The bed was massive and the sheets were heavenly; the pillows were just perfect. I could control the lighting, and the blackout curtains meant total darkness when I wanted it. Sigh. The little touches – the complimentary tea and coffee, the mini-bar – really made it feel special. Bonus: a separate shower and bathtub! The seating area and desk were perfect for me to work from whenever I needed.

For the Kids:

I don't have kids, but the family-friendly atmosphere was pretty obvious. And based on general experience, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my family to the villas.

Getting Around

The car park was pretty awesome, and it was free of charge. They also have a car charging station.

The Anecdotes (and Imperfections)

Okay, camel milk. Remember that? I saw it on the breakfast buffet, and being the adventurous type (sort of), I decided to give it a whirl. The first sip?… Well. Let’s just say it was an experience. It’s a very acquired taste. I eventually settled back in for the more safe, more standard option. Another, another anecdote is… I got to see the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen. The whole place had a glow, and I spent most of my time outside just taking it all in.

My Emotional Reaction

This place really makes you feel good. It was a great experience.

My Honest Review Overall (and my offer below).

Luxury Abha Villas isn't perfect, but it's pretty damn close. The odd internet glitch, and a couple of minor accessibility issues that could be fixed, cannot overshadow the amazing staff, the incredible spa, and the sheer beauty of the location.

Alsaif villas فلل فندقيه راقيه Abha Saudi Arabia

Alsaif villas فلل فندقيه راقيه Abha Saudi Arabia

Okay, buckle up buttercups, because this isn't your grandma's perfectly-formatted travel itinerary. We're going to Alsaif Villas in Abha, Saudi Arabia, and things are about to get… well, let's call it 'authentically chaotic'.

Alsaif Villas, Abha: My Attempt at Paradise (and Likely Failing Gloriously)

Day 1: Arrival - From Dusty Dreams to a Slightly Disappointing Doorbuster

  • Morning (6:00 AM): Alarm screams. I hate mornings. Especially travel mornings. It’s the pre-dawn panic of “Did I pack my passport? Did I leave the cat alive?”. Check. Check. (And yes, Mittens is still breathing. For now. Probably plotting my demise.)
  • (8:00 AM) Flying to Abha: The flight itself was a blur of lukewarm coffee and a crying baby (not mine, thank GOD). The views from the windows? Spectacular. Like, "jaw-dropping, Instagram-worthy" spectacular. Which, of course, I completely failed to capture because I was too busy wrestling with the seatbelt.
  • (11:00 AM): Arrival at Abha Airport. The air is delightfully crisp, a welcome change from the humidity I'm used to. The airport itself is surprisingly modern. My expectations were low, honestly, but I'm genuinely impressed.
  • (12:00 PM): The Car Rental Debacle. Okay, this deserves its own section. Picture this: me, armed with my driver's license (which I’m pretty sure says "amateur" on it somewhere), the rental car company clerk, and a language barrier thicker than a camel's hump. Long story short: I ended up with a car that looks like it was born in a junkyard. But hey, it has air conditioning, right? Which is a freaking necessity in this heat.
  • (1:00 PM): Arrival at Alsaif Villas. Gorgeous, truly. The pictures didn't lie (for once!). Lush landscaping, sparkling pools… but then the door… a nice lady said my room isn’t ready. The wait is longer than expected, while I sit on a chair and observe the other clients. I can't help but notice a family, the children running around, a mother laughing and a father smiling, everything seems too perfect to be true. I don't want to be jealous, but it’s natural. After a final hour, the wait is over. My key is here.
  • (2:30 PM): Check-in, finally! My villa is… well, let's just say it's not the penthouse suite I had envisioned. But hey, the bed is big, the bathroom is clean, and I can't hear any crying babies. Small victories.
  • (3:30 PM): Poolside. (Attempt #1) Okay, it's beautiful, like a little oasis. I walk into the water and it's freezing! No way I can tolerate this for long. I get back to the shore, but feeling disappointed.
  • (5:00 PM): A Wander Through the Villa Compound. I wander through the gardens. There are fountains and all sorts of things. I stop to take a breath, and admire a view of mountains. I want to stay there forever! I feel a peace I haven't felt in months.
  • (7:00 PM): Dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food is… fine. Not terrible, not amazing. More importantly, the waiter spills a whole glass of ice water on my shirt. Thankfully, they have a laundry service, but still, I'm dripping wet. I take my shirt off and dry it under the AC.
  • (8:00 PM): Back to the villa. I sit beside the pool, trying to relax, staring at the stars. I stay there for what feels like hours, until I go to bed, smiling.

Day 2: Ancient History… and a Really Bad Coffee

  • (8:00 AM): Wake up feeling… meh. Jet lag bites, as always.
  • (9:00 AM): Breakfast at the hotel (trying again). Service is still a bit slow, but the view is spectacular. The food is still… alright.
  • (10:00 AM): A Trip to Rijal Almaa Heritage Village. This place is incredible. It’s like stepping back in time. The architecture is amazing, the colors are vibrant, and the whole place just hums with history. Seriously, go. Just go. It was awe-inspiring, and then I got distracted by the gift shops. Of course.
  • (1:00 PM): Lunch in Rijal Almaa. Okay, so they recommended a traditional Saudi restaurant. The food…hmm. Let's just say, it was an experience. The meat was tender, but the spices were… aggressive. Let's be optimistic and say I’m expanding my palate.
  • (2:00 PM): The Coffee Incident. Okay, so I tried to order coffee at a local café. What I got was… not coffee. It was dark, bitter, and tasted vaguely of motor oil (okay, a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea). I tried to be polite, I really did. But I ended up quietly dumping it in a nearby plant. Hey, the plant seemed to enjoy it!
  • (3:00 PM): Relaxing at the villa. I read a book. I consider taking a dip in the pool, but I'm scared.
  • (5:00 PM): Explore the other villas. I visit some of the villas. Some of them are empty. Some are occupied. I make a friend, and observe the life of families.
  • (7:00 PM): Dinner, and a good sleep.

Day 3: The Mountains, The Markets, and the Undying Quest for Decent Coffee

  • (9:00 AM): Scenic Drive. I drive for hours into the mountains. The views are breathtaking, like, tear-jerkingly gorgeous. The road is winding, a little terrifying. I stop in multiple places to take pictures.
  • (1:00 PM): The Souk (Market). The markets in Abha are a sensory overload in the best possible way. The smells of spices, the colors of the textiles, the chatter of the merchants… it’s fantastic. I buy way too many dates, a scarf, and a potentially cursed trinket that caught my eye.
  • (3:00 PM): Coffee Quest, Part 2. Back in Abha, I decide to renew the quest for java. I ask the hotel reception for a place. The coffee is better today.
  • (4:00 PM): Back to the villa. I sit by the pool, but still, no dip.
  • (6:00 PM): Packing, and preparing to go.

Day 4: Departure - Goodbye Alsaif, Until.. Maybe?

  • (7:00 AM): Wake up early, feeling melancholic. I think the magic of this place is over.
  • (8:00 AM): Check out.
  • (9:00 AM): Drive to the airport.
  • (11:00 AM): Fly back.

Final Thoughts:

Alsaif Villas was an experience. Mostly good, some less so. Would I go back? Absolutely. This trip had a raw honesty about it, and that's why it was worth it.
